Leavin' Town

Well, I'm packing my bags, kids, so I can travel up to the Berkshires for a James Taylor concert with my mom, dad, aunts and uncles because nothing says HI, I AM SINGLE than hanging out with 50 year olds. I have very romantic plans for the holiday weekend which include sitting on a blanket with baby boomers listening to a singer-songwriter from the 70's and maybe getting my haircut on Saturday. The really important question living at the front of my brain right now is: do you think I should get bangs?

Pictures from my little bro's graduation are up on flickr. There may even be a shot of Jem's tattoo. Also, I want to know something, seriously.

Why Did I Show Up In A Color That EXACTLY MATCHED The Graduation Gowns?
Hi! I'm Laura! I want to be 17 too! School colors! Rah!

The morning of the graduation ceremony was sweltering and the heat only got worse as the day went on. We took one quick look at the bleachers full of people and headed off to the side of the field to sit in the shade. It was kind of rude, I suppose but we weren't the only ones doing it. Plus, the alternative was to sweat on the bleachers and pass out from sun poisoning. Instead, I fanned myself with the program and took pictures of my dad's feet.

In college ballet class, everyone was always complimenting my high arches. It didn't matter that I kind of sucked at dancing in general, I always got comments on my feet. And GUESS WHERE THEY CAME FROM? The 6'2 huge Polish man who fathered me. I tried to get Dad to point and flex for the camera but it didn't come out that well. In reality, he has even higher arches than I do.

Point and Flex! Hooray!

As you can tell, we were very enthralled by the graduation ceremony. Uh. Ahem. Dad may or may not have fallen asleep on the grass at one point but PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE HIM. It was hot. He is old. This is the fourth high school graduation ceremony he's had to sit through plus my five hour college commencement. I think he's earned the right to doze off in the middle of the superintendent's speech.

I wish there was a way to wrap up graduations and James Taylor concerts and the 4th of July and this country we live in and the gas prices and the economy and OH MA GOD my cabaret is in two weeks, please call to reserve tickets as they are selling out fast!

Wait. Where was I?

Oh. That's right. Showing you pictures of my shoes.

PEACE OUT!

I love me some James Taylor. Have fun! And I'm torn on the bangs-- side-swept or pixie?

I do not know! Right now, I'm leaning towards no. I just have too many horrible memories of years and years of bangs cut unevenly by my poor Mama. I think the next big change to do will be to slice my hair off completely. But I think I may wait a bit to do that for a few reasons. ANYWAY. I just typed out a huge comment about my hair. Amazing.
